History of Chhach Valley Hazro, Disttrick Attock. Panjab
There are several stories for the famousness of the Hazro city. One of them was related to Khawafa Muhammad kahn that 900 years ago his forefather Ameer Hazar khan who belongs to Durani Tribe laid foundation of the city in era of sultan Mahmood Ghaznavi. Ameer Aazar Khan had seven son. One of his son Ilyas Khan left for Lampot (India) and the remaining six son settled in Chhachh Region. One of them was Haroon who laid foundation of Haroon Abad.
Famous English explorer Maj Rawai wrote majority of Ghorgasht Tribe resides in Hazro region. Writer of the book ‘Al-Afghan’ wrote that it is possible that Hazro City was developed by Ghizar Khan who was born 1018 (Hajri) during the regime of Mughal King Jhangir. Ghizar Khan was changed into Hazr and at the end it was known as Hazro. In some books Hazro was wrote as Hadro.
The history of that days was described in book ''Geogafia Distt Rawalpindi'' wrote in 1901 in such a way that ''Long Date Palm Trees and white towers of the Mosques were seen far away. Population was about six thousand. There was a wall round the city called 'Faceel' Mahmood Ghaznavi fought hindu Rajas in Hazro during 1008 and defeat them but the city could not grow due to the nearby dacoits who resides in the surrounding of Hazro".
2.. Hazro Today
The Mixture of Old and New City.
At present Hazro develops like ideal town. Population grows more as compared to the old days. There are lot of big/huge buildings and populated markets developed outside the city wall. Beautiful and marvelous Towers of the Mosque can seem at far distance but few date palm trees remaining in the city. Molana Muhammad Rafie-ul-Husanni was constructed the first highest Mosque tower of 90 feet in 1980 which is 5 feet higher than Hari Meander of Hindus. Govt High School is one the old buildings of British era. Most of the big old building in the interior city were made by Hindus before Indo-Pak partition and after partition refugees from India resides in these buildings.
There were six entrance doors of Hazro city which were closed just after sun sat and opened earliest in the morning. During 1880 these doors were opened permanently on the demand of farmers. Four of these doors are still famous. The mostly known gate is called Kashmiri Gate which is on the West of the old city, a model of Ghaauri Missile is fixed nearby this door. Other than these known doors are Dhakki Gate & Ratila Mandi Gates. Now the name plates of Khufai-Rashideen are fixed on these doors.
3.. Educational Background.
In 1985 a reputed Intermediate College for boys was constructed on a land of 100 kenal in Hazro first time, which is on the North of Hazro City. Now detree colleges for boys and girls are present in the Hazro City.
4.. Administrative Control.
In 1962 a Telephone exchange and in 1905-06 a police station were established for Hazro City.!!
